X-Factor Is Open For Term 2!

NWS Spirit FC’s X-Factor program provides additional training for our JDL (Junior Development League) and Youth League players, who want to further develop their game and enhance their strengths. It features coaches from our First Grade and performance programs.

X-Factor is designed to help players develop the NWS Spirit FC DNA. These are the qualities that will set them apart from their peers and help them progress to the next level in the pathway.

DATES & TIMES

  • Runs for 10 weeks through the school term, commencing Tuesday 21 April 2026
  • Spirit players can select from TUESDAYS and/or FRIDAYS as below:
    • Tuesdays 4:45 to 5:45pm – Youth Strength Development
    • Tuesdays 4:45 to 5:45pm – Youth Technical Skills, Speed training, Striking & Finishing
    • Tuesdays 6:15 to 7:15pm – Junior Technical Skills, Speed training, Striking & Finishing
    • Fridays 6:00 to 7:00pm – Junior Technical Skills, Speed training, Striking & Finishing
    • Fridays 7:15 to 8:15pm – Youth Strength Development
  • If electing to do both Tuesday and Friday, please sign up separately for both days.

As these sessions will be held on Christie Park’s all-weather synthetic surface, it is unlikely any sessions will be cancelled due to weather. Cancellations will only occur in extreme conditions, such as thunderstorms.

 

COST: $460

 

The X-Factor programs on offer for Term 2 2026 are:

Technical Skills

Players will develop their core actions, focusing specifically on first touch, passing, receiving, and finishing. This program allows players to enhance their individual skills in an intense, small group environment.

  • Youth Technical Skills is for players U13 and older
  • Junior Technical Skills is for players U12 and younger

Speed Training

Designed to help players enhance their speed, with a focus on movement and technique. Players will receive personalised, in-depth breakdowns of their running profile, as well as bespoke coaching to improve their athletic DNA.

Striking & Finishing

In these sessions, players will develop their ball striking skills, with an emphasis on repetition and individual feedback. Players will work closely with coaches to improve delivery & finishing. This program also includes set piece training.

Strength Development (Youth League only)

Players will further enhance their strength training, with these sessions designed to supplement the club’team-based strength sessions. This part of the program provides individual coaching of resistance training exercises and the creation of individual strength training programs, enabling players to develop confidence in strength and gym settings.

Goalkeeping (Youth League only)

Aspiring goalkeepers will work closely with experienced coaches to develop shot-stopping, distribution, and goalkeeper handling in a small group setting. These sessions complement team-based goalkeeper training and are aimed at shot stoppers who are keen to take their game to another level.

NWS Spirit FC Announces Resignation of Women’s 1st Grade Head Coach and Girls Youth Technical Director

NWS Spirit FC advises that Women’s 1st Grade Head Coach and Girls Youth Technical Director, John Seroukas, has tendered his resignation.

The club thanks John for his commitment and professionalism during his time with NWS Spirit FC. His contribution to both the senior women’s program and the development of our girls’ pathway is highly valued. We wish John success in his future endeavours.

Jai Cross has been appointed as Interim Women’s 1st Grade Head Coach, while Ryan Fletcher will assume the role of Acting Girls Youth Technical Director.

The NWS Spirit FC Board has full confidence in both Jai and Ryan to provide strong leadership and continuity across the women’s program. Their expertise and dedication will ensure the club continues to progress and build on its foundations.

The Board has commenced the process to recruit a permanent replacement and will provide further updates in due course.
