Take your game to the next level with NWS Spirit FC’s X-Factor Program!
X-Factor provides intensive small-group training for junior and youth players aged 9–16, who have participated in the NWSF Winter Academy or NWS Spirit FC JDL and Youth League programs.
Delivered by coaches from NWS Spirit FC’s First Grade and performance programs, X-Factor is designed for motivated players who want to further develop their game, strengthen their individual abilities, and progress along the NWS Spirit FC player pathway.
The small-group environment (maximum 6 players per group) allows players to receive individual feedback while completing high-intensity, position-relevant activities.
Please note that X-Factor is an advanced program. If you are not a current Spirit FC or NWSF Academy player, you will need to register for a trial, which will be held on the evening of Monday 21 September, at Christie Park. This trial will ensure that prospective players are of the required standard, prior to them signing up for the program.

Develop Your X-Factor
The program helps players develop the qualities that form the NWS Spirit FC DNA – the technical, physical, and performance attributes that can set players apart and prepare them for the next level. Players will receive coaching on the following specialised skills:
Technical Skills
Develop essential football actions, including First touch, Passing and receiving, Ball control, and Finishing.
Speed Training
Improve speed, movement, and running technique through personalised coaching. Players will receive a detailed assessment of their running profile and targeted guidance to help improve acceleration, movement efficiency, and overall athletic performance.
Striking and Finishing
Develop ball-striking technique through repetition, individual feedback, and focused coaching. Sessions will cover Shooting and finishing, Crossing and delivery, Passing over distance, and Set pieces.
Strength Development
Build strength, movement confidence, and physical capability through individually tailored resistance-training sessions.
The program is designed to complement team-based strength training and includes coaching on exercise technique, as well as the development of individual training programs.
Goalkeeper X-Factor
A specialised X-Factor program will also be available for aspiring goalkeepers.
Working in small groups with experienced goalkeeper coaches, players will focus on Shot-stopping, Handling, Distribution, Positioning, and Goalkeeper-specific technique. These sessions complement team-based goalkeeper training and are ideal for goalkeepers who want to take their game to another level.
