NWS Spirit FC’s MYL, AYL, and WYL programs showcased their talent and teamwork at the 2025 Bathurst Cup, continuing the club’s annual tradition as an opportunity to develop our tribal DNA, and provide opportunities for competitive player development.
The club sent a record number of sixteen squads, competing across multiple age groups, over two action-packed weekends at Proctor Park.
The MYL teams demonstrated their competitive edge, playing up an age group this year as part of our commitment to providing players with football environments that stretch and develop them individually. The AYL squads also competed in the Boys competition, with many squads recording strong performances against NPL clubs – a testament to the program’s commitment to player development and progression. A particular mention should be made to both AYL and MYL 18s squads that featured 15 year olds challenging themselves – a clear reflection of the club’s DNA and commitment to youth development.
Meanwhile, the WYL squads displayed remarkable determination and skill. Well done to our WJDL 12s, competing at the Cup for the first time, and enjoying a fine run to the Grand Final. Although they went down 1-0 in the final, the team’s commitment and passion for football was unmatched, highlighted by the memorable ‘coaches v players v parents’ match that signified our club’s community ethos.
The Bathurst Cup was more than just a competition – it was an opportunity for team bonding and fostering the club’s “tribal DNA,” building camaraderie that goes beyond the field. Technical Director Tim Palmer praised the players and coaching staff for their dedication, while also acknowledging the vital support of managers and volunteers who made the weekends a memorable experience.
With another successful Bathurst Cup campaign, NWS Spirit FC continues to set the stage for a promising season ahead.
