NWS Spirit FC pathway players are training positions offered to players who are also registered with an NWSF local club. The position has the following criteria:
- Players will train with the squad 2 nights per week with the nights to be agreed with the lead coach, where the selected nights must allow you to also train with your local NWSF club.
- You will register, train and play with your local NWSF club. This also ensures you are covered by insurance.
- There is no guarantee pathway players will be offered a position in a Spirit FC squad in the future
Our pathway player program has a successful history of players progressing through the representative football environment. We have seen many players go onto be future Spirit FC Juniors, Youth League and First Grade players. A significant contributor to this successful retention rate is the pathway program’s close integration with Spirit FC teams. Pathway players often also progress onto other NPL clubs, which Spirit FC actively supports as an alternate path of progression.
The pathway player program includes…
- Two training nights, and:
- Participation in club events including DNA Day, Tribe Day, end of season presentation, and Shirt Presentation Day (noting pathway players will not receive a shirt at this event)
- Participation in pre-season trial matches and tournaments
- Referee and coach education, and other special events/education as confirmed
- All training kit, including training shirts, shorts, socks, jumper, sports bag and a football
- Pathway players will also be able to participate in GPS, X-Factor & any team bonding events
Please note the pathway player program does not include…
- Involvement in matchday squads for FNSW competitions
Current pathway players should contact their team manager as the first point of reference for any questions.
