2026 NWS Spirit FC Womens Youth League trials

The trial dates have been confirmed for NWS Spirit FC’s Womens Youth League (WYL) program for players interested in selection for our 2026 squads.

Womens Youth League

NWS Spirit FC’s Womens Youth League (WYL) is a full-time representative program that competes in Football NSW competitions and train three nights a week from January to October. The competition is 26 rounds, and includes a finals series, taking place from March to September.

Please note due to a high retention rate of existing players, positions in these squads are currently limited. At these trials, we will consider for these final positions and will also be selecting pathway player positions, which enable a player to train twice a week with a WYL squad while still playing for their local NWSF club.

On Friday October 17…

  • WYL (Christie Park Field 1)
    • U14s (born 2012) and U15s (born 2011) – 4.30pm to 5.45pm
    • U16s (born 2010) and U18s (born 2009 and 2008) – 5.45pm to 7pm

If you have not yet already, please complete an expression of interest at https://form.jotform.com/241818547802865A reminder of trial logistics will be sent to those who have registered via this form, prior to the day.

Logistics

Please note the following logistics…

  • Trials WILL proceed if it is raining. Trials will only be cancelled if there is lightning close by.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before the trial with a ball, water bottle and sunscreen. Players wear their football kit, shin pads and football boots. Players do not have to check in.
  • Unsuccessful trialists will NOT be provided feedback due to the volume of players trialing.

Please also note…

  • WYL squads train three times a week (generally two evenings and one morning session from 5.45am to 7.15am), and play on weekends.
  • Training days and times, and matchdays, for 2026 are to be confirmed.
  • Positions may also be offered at trials for pathway players. Pathway players play for a local NWSF club while training twice a week with the WYL squad. You can find out more information about the pathway player program by clicking here.

If you have a question, then please wait until trials, as you will have an opportunity to ask questions then.

If you have registered and then are NOT attending trials, you do not need to contact the office.

Our Youth League programs are built on our framework for player development, the NWSF DNA, which has its own website where you can learn more about who we are.
