NWS Spirit FC is guided by three club values.
- Be humble
- Work hard
- Be here for the right reasons
These values underpin our actions and behaviours by linking to our expectations.
Players
Some specific expectations players should be aware of are…
- Be humble by…
- Acknowledging all coaches & staff with a handshake or fist bump
- Respecting equipment by packing away neatly
- Cleaning after ourselves, both at Christie Park and away
- Work hard by…
- Attending 90% of training sessions and matches
- Being engaged in all aspects of the environment, including (but not limited to) on-field training, athletic development sessions and team meetings
- Being responsible for your development by seeking out opportunities and feedback
- Be here for the right reasons by…
- Attending all additional club events, including (but not limited to) Tribe Day, local club engagements, refereeing and First Grade allocations
- Being available for all your eligible age groups over a matchday weekend, and/or staying until half-time of the next match following your team fixture
- Wear the right uniform whenever representing the club
Coaches
Our coaches are also expected to align to the three club values. They have made a similar commitment to ensure they meet expectations such as:
- Being humble, by…
- Working together as a collaborative team to make decisions in the best interest of players, teams and the club
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship by shaking the hands of opposition coaches and referees at the end of matches
- Working hard, by…
- Designing, delivering and debriefing each training session to meet the outcomes of their designated program
- Actively engaging in continued professional development and coach education, including attending all coach inservices
- Being here for the right reasons, by…
- Supporting each individual player with ongoing feedback and conducting at least two player interviews per season
- Contributing to a safe & positive environment by adhering to child protection requirements
Parents
Parents contribute to the culture of the club by embodying our values and expectations. Ways in which this comes to life includes:
- Being humble by…
- Providing only positive encouragement and support, and NO coaching, from the sideline of training and matches
- Parking in the designated lower carpark and respecting the coaches & staff carpark
- Working hard by…
- Supporting their teams volunteering allocations, as communicated via the manager
- Assisting managers and administration staff with the timely completion of player registration requirements
- Being here for the right reasons by…
- Actively supporting their child’s involvement in club commitments, including player allocations and local club engagements
- Encouraging a focus on development through conversations with their child
